Congrats to One of Our Collaborators, Scottie with ImageDiary
In July, we started a new collaboration with one of my favorite silk scarf designers Scottie Kersta-Wilson with ImageDiary and I'm happy to announce her work was featured in Voyage Chicago. I first "met" Scottie online through a fashion marketing course with Jane Hamill's Fashion Brain Academy. Among a sea of faces, she and I connected via facebook messenger. Isn't technology great for human connection outside your own social circle?
When I unpacked the box of scarves filled with ImageDiary silk prints, I was impressed with the quality of the work and the story behind each one. I'm still in the process of sewing each and every scarf into a collaborative piece that meshes well with my couture resort collection and Scottie's wonderful stories. Each piece created will be part of my Collaborations Collection (a collection that benefits the artists I work with and promote).
Below are a few of the concepts I developed with our August Muse of the Month, Deepa Akula of the OurTravelStories9 blog (a travel blog of a husband and wife seeing the world together on cloud 9).
In these photos Deepa is wearing our ImageDiary Bamboo Silk Wrap created from the ImageDiary piece called "A Daughter Returns: Joss Sticks paired up with a organic bamboo silk I had found in the heart of NYC's Garment District. I wanted our pieces to still have the movement of a scarf, but the versatility to be a cape, wrap or a skirt.

In this photo we were playing with the idea of a sari dress look with ImageDiary's A Daughter Return's: Cinnabar. Stay tuned! We have more looks to create as our Collaborations Collection continues to grow.
